Walking in Snowdonia

Snowdonia is renowned for being a very special place for walkers. From the peaks of the mountains and the hundreds of lakes to the forests, rivers and the coastal areas, Snowdonia's varied terrain and magnificent views are sure to inspire everyone! The National Park is working on developing a network of walks for all abilities and more will be added every year.

Mountain walks
If you would like to walk up Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, click here to view the 6 possible paths. Or if you would like a quieter mountain walk, why not walk up Cader Idris, one of the spectacular mountain ranges in southern Snowdonia?

Leisure walks
We have a collection of great leisure walks suitable for all kinds of walkers, varying from short, accessible strolls to the more demanding walks up some of the amazing hills of Snowdonia. We've divided the walks into the different areas of the National Park so click on the links on the left for further information.

Accessible walks suitable for wheelchairs and prams
From a short walk near Llyn Cwellyn to the Mawddach Trail stretching 9 miles from Dolgellau to Barmouth there is something here for everyone. And for a more adventurous trail, why not visit Rhaeadr Fawr in Abergwyngregyn or the waterfall at Dôl-goch? Click here for further information.

Why not venture on our Bwrlwm Eryri audio trail from Llanycil to Llanuwchllyn and learn about the great legends and folklore of the area while taking in the striking views?
