Fancy a leisurely turn in beautiful parkland at the foot of Cader Idris in the south of the National Park? Over the last few years the Snowdonia National Park Authority has developed 1.25 kilometres of accessible path at this special spot.

Location - Dôl Idris Car Park, Talyllyn on the B4485 (by the junction onto the A487)

The Path - Approximately 1.25km of accessible path

Facilities - Car park, toilets, accessible toilets, accessible picnic tables.

History

This land was donated to the Snowdonia National Park Authority by Mr Ivor Idris at the beginning of the 1980s. It was his family who were famous for producing the well-known 'Idris' soft drinks. The remains of the old laboratory can still be seen on the sight.

During 2004 the Snowdonia National Park Authority and Snowdonia Upland Paths Partnership completed a great deal of improvement work at the site, the work included path improvements, a new bridge and landscaping. The path was officially opened in July 2004 by Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas AM.

Three years later in 2007, with funding from the Welsh Assembly Government, the Authority completed further development work on the site and a 645 metre loop of accessible path was added to the original path.
