Travel Snowdonia

There are many alternatives to travelling by private car, which allow visitors to enjoy Snowdonia to the full. The Ffestiniog Railway links the two main lines which access the National Park, (the Cambrian Coast Line and the route from Chester to Holyhead ) along a scenic 13 mile route from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog.

Towns and villages in Snowdonia are connected by a network of local and regional buses. Timetables are available from Gwynedd and Conwy Councils and from Information Centres throughout the National Park.

Sherpa Bus

You can forget about driving and focus on the scenery when you use the Snowdon Sherpa bus service. Whether you are staying on the North Wales coast or in the heart of the country, these services are your best passport to a great day out in Snowdonia National Park. The Sherpa takes you all over Northern Snowdonia, connecting with walks, holiday pursuits, beauty spots and a whole range of mountain destinations.

Snowdonia bus offer for £1
From now on, you can travel on Sherpa buses for just £1 per journey. The buses will run from Llanberis, Pen-y-Pass, Capel Curig, Betws y Coed, Llyn Ogwen and Bethesda, which are the S1, S2 and S6 routes.

Snowdon Sherpa Day Ticket
The Snowdon Sherpa day ticket allows you to hop on and off the Snowdon Sherpa network all day as many times as you like on the day of purchase. The ticket is valid between Bethesda, Llanberis, Llanrwst, Porthmadog and Waunfawr.

Linear Walks
Why not enjoy a linear walk?
Use the Sherpa service to travel to your starting point and walk back to your vehicle at your own pace.
