As part of the Gwynedd Affordable Housing Project, Dolgellau Town Council are collaborating with the Snowdonia National Park Authority, Gwynedd Council and the Gwynedd Rural Housing Enabler to establish the local need for open market housing and affordable housing in the Dolgellau area.
As part of this work every household in the Dolgellau Town Council area will receive a local housing needs survey form. The purpose of the survey will be to collect information on the local housing needs in addition to discovering how many of the local population are in genuine need of affordable housing. Every household is encouraged to complete the form, as the results could be a means of supporting any future scheme implemented to provide affordable housing for local people.
Aled Evans, Gwynedd Council’s Affordable Housing Officer said:
“It is essential for the sustainability of rural towns and villages such as Dolgellau that there is an adequate provision of housing for the local population. It is therefore important that local residents take advantage of this opportunity to provide information on their housing needs.
“All information collected will be assessed by the Gwynedd Rural Housing Enabler and myself and all personal information will be treated as confidential.”
The questionnaires should be returned to Aled Evans, Gwynedd Council Affordable Housing Officer by no later than Friday, 16 May 2008.
For further information in relation to this survey or on the Affordable Housing Project in general please contact Aled Evans, Gwynedd Council Affordable Housing Officer on 01286 679 498 or e-mail taifforddiadwy@gwynedd.gov.uk
