Snowdonia National Park Management Plan

The Snowdonia National Park Management Plan (the Plan), is an important document relating to the future of the area. It provides the strategic policy framework for the entire National Park and includes a specific Action Plan which will be implemented over the next two years.

Although produced by the National Park Authority, it is a document for all who have a stake in the future of Snowdonia be they; public, private or other organisations and individuals who have an interest in the future of Snowdonia. In essence, ensuring a sustainable future for tomorrow’s communities is a shared responsibility.

A wide range of organisations have assisted the Authority in producing the Plan. The commitment of partners is to be commended and they now have a role in implementing the Plan’s objectives and actions.

Every two years the actions included in the Plan will be reviewed and monitored to ensure they are being implemented effectively and to allow the introduction of new actions. In five years, the whole document will be reviewed to ensure its content is current and up-to-date. At this point, the Authority will set new objectives and once again consult with partner organisations and members of the public to seek their views.

State of the Park Report

The State of the Park Report provides information and data relating to the condition of the National Park. It is used to inform the Snowdonia National Park Management Plan and other relevant documents, of changes to Snowdonia’s natural resources, climate, cultural identity, socio-economic resources and visitor and recreation patterns. Although it contains a wide range of data, it is primarily used to provide a snapshot of the National Parks health.

Similar to the Management Plan, it is reviewed every five years and will be revised in line with any future changes to the Management Plan.
